Can anyone tell me why two of the busiest waterways in the world the Suez Canal and the Panama Canal always show no activity?   It's almost as if they have fallen into disuse.

Cheers and thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Our system works via AIS base stations that collect data transmitted by vessels in the area.

We have supplied equipment to Panama but unfortunately it has been offline for some time.

We are trying to get it back online or find a new location for it.

We don't yet have equipment covering the Suez Canal.

Hopefully we can get AIS data from both soon.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Mark

Thanks Mark, that explains it.   I look forward to being able to track vessels through both canals sometime in the future.
