Home of Plane Finder, Ship Finder and more

Do many of you in the UK also use the RNLI Pager service?

I'm continually surprised how rarely notified lifeboat launches tie up with subsequent activity on Ship Finder. I appreciate the comments on the RNLI site about the possible limitations of using their service, and in particular that the delay in the RNLI system could mean that an incident might be over and the lifeboat returned to base before you looked at the location, but I would still have expected a higher rate of tie-ups.

The major search West of The Needles a few days ago worked extremely well, but subsequent RNLI shouts have shown no matching tracked activity at all.

Any thoughts, anyone?
