Home of Plane Finder, Ship Finder and more

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the deal with the GOTO-FMS (Walter I Linkoping) designated planes which show up on Plane Finder every now and then?  Supposedly these are USAF airborne command and control planes which fly up and loiter about for hours and then return to base but PF shows them registered in Sweden.   Just wondering...

From what I understand they are E6 aircraft. There were 2 up a minute ago. One on the east coast and another on the west. The one of the east coast has landed it seems.

The operate in full ADS mode which allows for online location tracking.

Yes, but why are these USAF E6 aircraft shown as registered to Sweden?   That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Military humor maybe?
