Froot Vacancies

We need a Dev Froot! The very first one we have looked for!

Dev Froot

The role is varied – we have apps for iOS, Android and Windows phone. Our two main websites are also really apps too!
These apps all need servers, databases, maps, maths and code.
Nothing is static in the app world and neither are we - we need someone who can turn ideas into reality and someone that can innovate and invent. It goes without saying that you will have a genuine interest in technology and probably opinions on what is amazing and what sucks!

Duties & Responsibilities
 

You will be working directly under, and alongside, our lead developer.
The core work and responsibilities will include:

• Developing mobile apps and data systems
• Website and web app development
• User interface design and implementation
• Use of pinkfroot bug tracking and project management tools

You must also be eligible to live and work in the UK.

(We are based near Portsmouth - Remote/home working is also possible).

Competencies Required

We are looking for someone with a good many of these:

• Wicked dev skills
• Highly self motivated
• A mind that is both enquiring and challenging!
• The ability to make things happen quickly whilst maintaining the highest quality standards
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to dissect and solve problems and challenges
• Superb attention to detail
• Able to work individually and as part of a team

Experience & Qualifications Required

We don't have preconceived ideas on this as long as you can meet our competency requirements.

Having said that experience in some of these will probably help:

• iPhone and iPad app development
• Xcode (from use on iOS or Apple Mac related development work)
• Objective-C
• Object Oriented Design (OOD) and application architecture
• Knowledge of Apple's "Human Interface Guidelines" for iOS apps
• Code optimisation and debugging skills
• Memory leak detection and performance optimisation
• Software version control systems (SVN)
• Design and Photoshop skills
• PHP & MySQL
• Working with XML & JSON Web Services
• Experience with Android development
• Experience with Windows mobile development

Salary & Benefits

This will depend upon qualifications and experience.
The role is subject to a three-month probationary period.
