Calshot is the perfect place for ships coming into Southampton water. Every tanker into Esso marine terminal Fawley and BP jetty Hamble comes pass very close to this point within two hundred metres from shore,looks closer when the tide is out. All Container ships, Cargo vessels and Vehicle carriers also pass this point making it perfect point to view. The downfall is there is a small parking fee with meters around the site as it is part of the Calshot Activities Centre for Children and Adults, but there is a Cafe inside the centre and Toilets. Vessel schedules can be downloaded from Southampton VTS web site which gives about a five day schedule of arrive, movements and departure times.
