Hello,I have the PlaneFinder HD app running on an iPad 3. It appears that I can see much more traffic for my area in the SW U.S. on Planfinder.net than on the app. Is there a reason for this? Right…Continue

Time delay between Planefider.net and PlaneFinder HD?

Considering nearly every other flight tracking company out there using non ADS-B data has about a 5+ minute delay in data availability,  I am amazed at how "real time" the info from Plane Finder HD…Continue

"Mark, Thanks for the reply. I was wondering the difference between red and orange aircraft symbols. Unfortunately as you pointed out, suppressing scheduled flights takes me back to a much lower level of traffic, of course only because of the lower…"

"Hello Aaron, This happens because the recently added orange aircraft data is delayed 5 minutes to us. We cannot plot the approaches accurately as our tracking operate closer to real time than that. This therefore causes the issue that you report for…"

Plane Location Relative to Map

Hello,I wanted to follow up to inform of a condition I've seen a few times in my general viewing area of the Desert SW in the U.S.  I have a Bookmark set for Phoenix Sky Harbor airport in Arizona (KPHX) and have noticed on several occasions that aircraft inbound for PHX appear to "overfly" the airport, on approach where I would be expecting them to transition to final. It is almost as if the target is in "coast" mode where contact was lost at some point and the display of the aircraft continues…See More

"I second the improvements. I'm in the SW and just commented earlier in the week. I went from seeing 2 or three commercial flights to over 30 during a similar time of day. The developers are doing wonders with this app."

Plane Finder.net Vs. iPad App

Hello,I have the PlaneFinder HD app running on an iPad 3. It appears that I can see much more traffic for my area in the SW U.S. on Planfinder.net than on the app. Is there a reason for this? Right now I have three planes showing on the app when the website is showing at least 30-40. I don't have any filters enabled.Regards,AaronSee More

"Hi Aaron, The data should be the same in both but sometimes it can drift. Refresh rates can play a part although 2 minutes is higher than we would expect! I'll look out for this too to see if I can work out why that happened. It is really good…"

Time delay between Planefider.net and PlaneFinder HD?

Considering nearly every other flight tracking company out there using non ADS-B data has about a 5+ minute delay in data availability,  I am amazed at how "real time" the info from Plane Finder HD really is.Something I was pondering though. I was watching a plane on Planefinder.net that was going to be passing directly overhead and noticed that the position info between the website and the iPad app was off by a bit. Measuring out the distance between what website and app were displaying showed…See More

"Thanks to you both for the reply. I did some "self education" on ADS-B last night and see that the route data is not part of the ADS-B "out" stream. Many thanks for making this info available. Your efforts are…"

Alaska is just one of a large number of recently updated airlines in the app. We're glad that they kept the Eskimo!
