This Ning Network is of and for Network Creators on the Ning
Platform. It covers best practices, announcements, tips and tricks,
feedback and general discussion about successfully growing and
managing a Ning Network. Ning's role is to facilitate a healthy
environment for Network Creators to engage with each other and
Ning. We're also here to provide information about the product
roadmap for your Ning Network, feature and release updates and
platform-wide announcements. These guidelines, along with our Terms
of Service, are designed to ensure that everyone here has a great
experience and gets the most out of Ning. IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS
NING NETWORK WORK, HERE'S WHAT THIS COMMUNITY NEEDS FROM YOU: Be
Real Human Beings In order to be a member of this Ning Network, you
must sign up with the email address that you used to create your
Ning Network. We ask you to use your real name or a nickname rather
than an identity linked directly to your Ning Network (i.e. "John"
rather than "mynetwork.com"). Limiting membership to active Network
Creators keeps the conversations constructive and means no one has
to deal with anonymous trolls. Aim for Respectful, Constructive
Conversations Without constructive feedback and debate, we won't be
able to achieve our collective goal of enabling Network Creators to
get the most out of Ning. Without respect and civility,
constructive feedback and debate is impossible. Therefore, respect
and civility need to be the hallmarks of this community. Share the
Love Share what you know and help out other Network Creators where
you can. Being generous with your time and knowledge can pay
dividends now and in the future. Search Before Posting It's
possible that there's already a conversation taking place about a
topic you want to discuss and keeping it all in one place makes it
easier for everyone who's interested. Be Relevant Keep your posts
on-topic and in the correct category of the forum. Keep any other
comments relevant to the content they're attached to. Drive-by
comments with no substance don't add to the conversation, they just
make it harder to follow. Our administrators - all fellow Network
Creators - will reserve the right to remove off-topic comments and
posts at their discretion in order to keep the conversation
relevant. HERE'S A LIST OF DON'TS HERE ON THE NETWORK CREATORS
NETWORK: Promote Your Ning Network or Services This is not the
place to advertise services, solicit business, drop affiliate links
or recruit new members to your own Ning Network. Linking to your
Ning Network on your profile page is fine, but linking to it
repeatedly on comment walls or as a signature on forum posts or
replies is not. Harass or Insult Other Members Making personal
attacks, insulting other members, or discussing a specific Network
Creator, member or Ning Network or employee of Ning in a negative
way is not ok. The two golden rules are: if you can't say anything
nice, don't say anything at all; and treat others as you'd like
them to treat you. Post Private Information Do not publicly reveal
information like your email address, phone numbers or addresses.
Spam Spam is posting the same message repeatedly across the Ning
Network. Spam is writing the same post or comment over and over
again. Spam is sending the same message to multiple members. Spam
is promoting or advertising external services, websites or other
products. Please don't spam. Private Message Ning Staff for Support
Private messages to Ning staff members that relate to support (i.e.
"how do I do X?" or "what is the status of ticket XYZ?") won't be
answered. We know that sounds harsh, but if we get pulled in too
many different directions, we won't be able to serve anyone well.
If you have a question about how to accomplish something on your
Ning Network, please try searching for a solution on the Help
Center and the Network Creators Network. If you can't find a
solution, post your question in the correct forum category; chances
are high that another Network Creator knows the answer and can
help. If you have an inquiry about an active ticket, please follow
up through the Ning Help Center. THE FINE PRINT: If it wasn't
obvious, violating any of these guidelines above will result in
suspension or banning from the Network Creator Network. Making this
a safe, constructive place to exchange information is our top
priority. Additionally, forum threads in the wrong section will be
moved, without notice, to the appropriate place. To keep the
sanity, Ning also reserves the right to close any discussion thread
for any reason and to delete inappropriate content. In rare
circumstances, Ning may delete information from the forums. We're
not looking to censor anyone, but it's our responsibility to ensure
the integrity of the Network Creators Network and we take that very
seriously.
