Dubris Pharos

Dover Harbour - English Channel 30/9/20

  The tower on the left is the lighthouse.

  Dubris was a Roman port on the site of current Dover.

  Built between 130 & 150 AD. Built by the Romans. This is the tallest Roman ruin in Britain and the only substantial Roman lighthouse ruin anywhere.(ibiblio) 19m high possibly originally 24m. Owned by English Heritage.
