Gatwick spotting

I thought I might try Gatwick for a change. Having never been there, I was wondering where would be the best spot for some decent photos.

I am looking at visiting there on Friday and the weather forecast is the usual for UK; some sun, some clouds and a westerly wind.

Who can point to a couple of good spots for either arrivals or departures?

All inputs gratefully received.

Rumor has it...

... that normal port activity on the West Coast of the US is resuming as of earlier today.

It's probably true, as I've seen some ships moving both in and out of the mouth of the Columbia today, and there's a minor shifting of players within the Astoria anchorage.

Normal capacity here is 8-9 ships, adding one at Pier 2 if there are logs available to export (check that as a "yes" today).

Fuel Leak As Ship Hits The Rocks Off Scotland

A container ship on its way to Norway has run aground off the Scottish coast and is leaking fuel.

An operation is under way to contain any risk of pollution and free Lysblink Seaways, which has nine people on board.

The alarm was raised at around 1.50am on Wednesday when the vessel became stuck off Kilchoan, north of the Isle of Mull, in the West Highlands.

The ship, thought to be carrying paper, did not refloat at high tide at 4.35am.

Not Bragging... Just an Introduction to my Community

Our local Public Television network produced a (rather condensed) history of our town here. It's not inaccurate, but it had to fit within a limited timeframe, so it's lacking in detail... and there are a lot of details. Still, it's worth watching, and I learned a few things,too.
