Richard as in Branson, that is.
With no previous announcements, publicity etc, Virgin Atlantic have a new 787-9 en its way to Heathrow as I write.
The new aircraft, reg G-VBOW, Call sign GVSKP is currently mid-Atlantic on a delivery flight from the Boeing factory in Charleston. ETA is more or less around 12:00. Sneaky!

After what seemed a life time of bad weather, I decided yesterday would be a good time to go to Heathrow. Nice sunshine with a bit of cloud later on. Ideal!
Not only that, there was the prospect of 3 new aircraft. New enough that the paint was hardly dry on them.
Saudi Arabian had a new B777, HZ-AK41, delivered 21st March.
Qatar were sending a new A350, A7-ALN, delivered February.
Kuwait had a new B777, delivered 10th March scheduled too.
It came as a surprise to me at Heathrow yesterday to discover Air Canada has recently adopted a new livery.
Personally, I think it is an improvement over the current "wishy washy" duck egg blue (or whatever it is called!).

It is rumoured that Emirates will be flying a brand new A384into Dublin on March 26th.
Apparently, A380 A6-EUQ will be flown direct from the factory at Finkenwerder to Dublin as part of some sort of flag waving trip. It is intersting to note this aircraft will be one of the first of the Emirates A380 with Rolls Royce engines.
Assume that being a publicity thing, it will be arriving at a nice hour and let's hope the sun shines on that day for you Mick!
