Large Antenna

Hi Lee

Have experimented with the supplied antenna from RadarGadget and have since purchased a Moonraker Radar-100 (a 5/8ths colinear vertical antenna for 1090 MHz claimed 6.5dBd gain). With a much higher gain I would have expected to have to modify the receivers primary and/or secondary gain, in fact I found little benefit from changing either away from the system defaults.

Plane Plotter tip - Differentiate Local Aircraft

If you are sharing with us and COAA it can be difficult to tell what aircraft your own local ADS-B receiver is picking up. The screen looks very similar to the following!

You can change this though and make it easier to spot your own aircraft!

Select the following option from the menu..…

Why upload photos?

I am currently working on pulling the images across from the pinkfroot site into the iPhone apps.

If you have any photos please make sure you upload them and in the tag field please include as much info as you can such as aircraft registration, ship name or MMSI.

I am testing it now and it is working great at the moment......

Airline Finder 1.02

Plane Finder version 2.15 is out. We are very excited about this version and it has been a long time in the making and testing! Apple have literally just approved so it will appear in your updates any time soon!

Optimising Plane Gadget Radar with Large Antenna

What you see there is the default settings. You can tell it is communicating with the receiver as the version is 1.0 or 2.0. Failure to communicate will display 99999.
