  • Hi Steve i have find the photo of your 51'M/Y on PF. Thanks
    • Ok, good! Glad you were able to find it. I’ve been using the Shipfinder App for several years. Originally using it as an inexpensive navigation aid while on the water, then for curiosity entertainment. I’ve only recently started using PF to contribute back to the community. My next goal is to locate a high spot adjacent to my marina to install an AIS base station. There is a large dead zone that starts near my marina and extends 60 miles (upriver) inland. So there are 6 port cities, including 3 major refineries, 1 large automobile depot, 3 chemical plants, and 5 or 6 bulk loading sites within the dead zone. This means I can only track incoming traffic and miss out on all outgoing. Luckily my marina sits directly on the narrow Carquinez Straight, with all traffic passing within < .5 kilometers of my slip. It’s an excellent spot for ship spotting!

  • Thank you for the compliments, gentlemen! I have a long time interest in all things nautical (and Aviation), and recently moved aboard my 51’ M/Y docked at a small marina on the Carquinez Strait (.5 miles x 4 mile stretch between the San Francisco/San Pablo Bays and the Sacramento Delta in California) which sees a decent amount of daily commercial vessel traffic feeding large refinery harbors in Benicia, and Martinez, a large automobile port in Benicia, and multiple bulk material depots in the upriver ports of Pittsburg, Antioch, Stockton, and Sacramento. Many of these bulk material cargo vessels have yet to be photographed, so I’m going to do my best to fill in the blanks!
    • Well done Steve - look forward to them
  • Excellent photo Steve
    • Andre, I accidentally deleted your comment while trying to attach the photo of my 51’ CPMY. She does not have AIS onboard (yet), so I have no idea how to share without an MMSI, otherwise I’d be happy to share 👍🏼
  • Nice shot Steve
  • Nice one Steve
