This is a first in my experience here. The African Lark has been in the general anchorage off Astoria for a couple of days, seemingly awaiting a slot upstream, which is what (almost) every other bulker does here. But then I caught this shot yesterday afternoon, anchors in the hawsepipes and two tugs alongside (barely visible fore and aft). Now I see that she's at the log pier at the west end of town. I'll try to get a shot of her there tomorrow. It's the first time I've seen a bulker loiter off of downtown before tying up at the pier, which seems especially odd since there hasn't been another ship in that slot for a couple of weeks.
