Falklands War 1982 - an RAF Boeing Chinook HC.1 hovers over the stern of this ill-fated vessel off Ascension Island. A further Chinook can be seen wrapped and cocooned on the stern. It, and the many other helicopters it was carrying were lost when the vessel was struck by an Exocet missile just a few days later.
