    Thanks Jack & David. The structure is a series of manmade Groynes (Egremont Groyne) built to assist erosion and the return of sand to the coastline. The site of a pier for a ferry to Liverpool 1827-1946

    Nice shot Howard. Been meaning to ask - do you know what that rock construction is that sticks out from the far side. it appears in many of your shots.
