Photo community for Plane Finder and Ship Finder

A research vessel owned by Schmidt Ocean Institute (Eric Schmidt of Google fame being the namesake). It's the first ship that I've ever seen bearing a large QR code, inviting a scan from observers close enough to see it. If viewed full-screen, you should be able to read the code with a smartphone and get updates. It's a serious research ship, but it's hardly Spartan!

What a brilliant idea. Be good for ships to have it for just general data. Like that
