Gage Roads (formally Kwinana Anchorage) is the Fremantle Port “car park” so to speak for ships visiting and leaving the port of Fremantle [AU FRE] and Kwinana [AU KWI]. This photo was taken early afternoon on November 19, 2016 and I captured a sample of the 15 ships in the anchorage. Most of the ships in the anchorage are bulk carriers who are often awaiting cleaning and/or inspection before coming into port.
The Weiland, the lead ship was passing through the anchorage to her berth in the inner harbour.
