Lightvessel 72 (LV72)

  Light Vessel 72, was built in 1903 by John Crown & Sons of Sunderland. With "Juno" written in large letters on its hull, it helped guide British and Canadian landing craft to Normandy as part of Operation Overlord. It was a beacon of safety and with a light that could be seen from over 20 miles away it marked a safe shipping channel through mineswept waters.
