June 30, 2022. Passenger and Car Ferry MARILYN BELL 1 seen operating across the390 ft wide Western Gap, between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (CYZD) and the mainland. Acquired in 2009 as the TCCA2, she was renamed to honour Toronto-born long-distance swimmer, Marilyn Bell. Of interest, a pedestrian walkway under the Western Gap opened in 2015. The 800-foot walkway was tunneled below 32.8 feet of rock and river bed, and 65.6 feet of water.
