MV HOTSPUR IV

The MV Hotspur IV is a historic passenger ferry, operating on the Hythe Ferry service. This service connects the town of Hythe and the city of Southampton, across Southampton Water in England.

The Hotspur IV was built by Rowhedge Ironworks in 1946 for use on the Hythe Ferry. She was the last, and slightly larger, of three half-sisters. One of these, the Hotspur II, was the Gourock – Kilcreggan – Helensburgh ferry service on the Firth of Clyde until 2007

Hotspur IV is normally held in reserve, with the more recent MV Great Expectations in front line service, however today she is on her way to Southampton 27.5.12
