Tyne Swing Bridge Lighthouse - Newcastle upon Tyne

Newcastle Upon Tyne / Gateshead - River Tyne 23/11/21

  Built 1876, inactive. 

An engineering triumph of Victorian Britain. The bridge is still very much in use and the swing span is still operated, but the light has not been listed as an aid to navigation for many years.

One of the many magnificent road and rail bridges across the River Tyne.
