P47 Thunderbolt

At Duxford in 2012. This P47 now resides in the US. With Mustangs and Lightnings, the Thunderbolt protected B17s and B24s on their daylight bombing missions over occupied Europe. The P47 also undertook ground strafing missions with bombs or rockets.
