Built 1911 Hamburg, Germany as the Peking. Acquired by the Shaftesbury Society and renamed Arethusa and moored on the River Medway at Upnor. The school was closed in 1974 and the vessel sold to the South Street, Seaport Museum, New York and reverted back to Peking. Photo taken circa 1970 with Yashica Minister 35mm Camera. Kodak slide scanned by Canon 9000F. Note the heavy lift gear in the background, which was Chatham Dockyard, now Chatham Historic Dockyard and good for a day out.
