VH-EBU

Nalanji Dreaming is the 747 that has been stored at Avalon now since 2005. The aircraft now is painted in basic blue fuselage livery but was once from 1995 painted in striking Aboriginal art scheme called "Nalanji Dreaming" along with 3 other aircraft, Wunala Dreaming, Yananyi Dreaming & more recently, Mendoowoorrji. Nalanji Dreaming is/was a Boeing 747-338 registered VH-EBU. She was the second of three 747-300s ordered by Qantas (others variants in their phased out fleet of thirty-nine being 747-100,200 & 400's). She entered service in 1985 using traditional Qantas livery until 1995 when she was rolled out in her new livery 'Nalanji Dreaming'. Her last flight was 1st February 2005 to Avalon as QF6195 (as all maintenance flight are) from Sydney. 'Nalanji Dreaming' was finally struck from the Australian Aircraft Register May 2007 and currently sits derelict minus engines and many major parts as you can see. Currently there are fifteen 747's (747-400's) still operational in the Qantas fleet as they are slowly being replaced by the A380's. As for her paint scheme that once was, the aboriginal designers of the Nalanji scheme were upset that the aircraft sat at Avalon such a state and is the reason why it was painted over. Hopefully we may see it on an A380 hopefully in the near future. As for her....?
