Gratia was built in 1900 at the H. Hansen & Co shipyard on the Isle of Wight. When launced she was named Bertha and her home port was Southampton.
When first launced she was rigged as a yawl, and in the mid-1970s she was re-rigged as a ketch.
Gratia is nowadays owned by Stiftelsen Svenska Kryssarklubben (Swedish Yacht Club Foundation).
The foundation has been running a sailing school since 1957; Sweden's first, largest and oldest venture in its field.
And Gratia, a 126 year old lady, still serves as a training ship.

But we have never stolen boats from anyone - we have always built our own and they have always been better than anyone else's.
Except for the one that happened to sink on its maiden voyage in Stockholm on August 10, 1628.
The disgrace is still unbearable.
